2016 - Cabernet Franc

Located east of Napa, our Mt. George Vineyard in Coombsville is the site of one of the first grape plantings in the valley in the 19th century. It was purchased by the Miller family in 1988, with current plantings from 1989. The deep soils derived from volcanic shale and tufa yield Cabernet Franc with aromas of perfumed fruit and fresh herbs and an elegant palette of refined tannin.

Vintage Notes The near-perfect 2016 growing season started early, saw ideal weather conditions throughout and wrapped up as the valley's first significant fall rainstorm arrived on October 14. Thanks to a relatively steady and mild July and August and then a series of warm days at the end of the growing season, vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness. Tasting Notes Bright aromas and flavors of raspberry and cherry with a pleasant finish of lush earthiness.
