2014 - GEO Cabernet Sauvignon

750ml is sold out. 1.5L, 3L and 6-pack are available.

In 1988, Ron and Diane Miller, purchased the Mt George Vineyard, the site of the first vinifera plantings in the Coombsville AVA.  Situated in a quiet corner of the Napa Valley a few miles east of the city of Napa, Mt George is a vineyard of undeniable strength. As the 20th anniversary of Silverado’s first Mt George harvest approached in 2012, the decision was made to make a wine for the occasion. It is called GEO – Greek for “Earth” and short for “George” – and it represents the highest expression of single-vineyard Cabernet from this extraordinary place.

GEO Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage Notes A series of warm days and cool nights pushed Napa Valley’s vintners and growers across the annual harvest finish line by the third week of October. This year’s harvest will go down as one of the earliest ever in Napa Valley and it will also be noted for near-perfect weather throughout the growing season, resulting in a fairly abundant and very high-quality crop. In spite of the drought, vintners are using words like, “quality,” “depth of flavor” and “excellent” to describe their expectations for the 2014 vintage. Many are also using “good fortune” among the blessings they are counting in a season where Mother Nature threw a curveball. Tasting Notes Ripe dark cherry, plum and herb aromas with dry acidity and slow approaching tannins. Hints of cola, oregano and freshly cracked peppercorns with a tantalizing plum and smoky finish.
