The wine showed a dark ruby almost opaque color. Blackberry, cassis, raspberry, loamy earth, plum, vanilla, smoke and whiffs of oak & eucalyptus arrived on a deep and complex nose. Blackberry, cassis, cherry cola, mossy earth, violet, vanilla, eucalyptus, oak and licorice followed on the palate redolent with dark berry notes. The wine exhibited excellent structure and length, along with big, chewy tannins. This wine would pair classically with a grilled, dry-aged porterhouse steak.
